Schedule Planner Instructions
Schedule Planner is a valuable class search and time
management tool. Create two potential schedules for each available
semester using a familiar shopping cart technology. All instructions
and prompts for using the program are contained within Schedule Planner. The
following is an outline for those new to the application.
Login to My Fresno State
Access Schedule Planner by clicking on "Plan Class Schedule" link in
"My Menu".
Select a Semester
The default semester will display at the top. To change the semester,
click on" Select Semester" to make a selection and you are returned to
Schedule
Planner's start page.
Design a Schedule
- Click on "Design Schedule" to select day and time preferences to
attend classes.
- Check (and uncheck) boxes that correspond
to times when you are available to attend classes. These
preferences
are used to filter out courses that match your day and time
availability.
All classes offered
on
weekend days (Saturday, Sunday) are included in the search results. Click
the "Continue" button to proceed to " Search Class Listings" page.
Search Course Listings
- Enter criteria to search the campus class schedule listing. A multi-subject
search of classes can be performed by using a combination of search
criteria.
- For help or suggestions on how best to conduct your search click "Search Help" in
the upper-right page.
- The layout of the search page
is designed to take you from the general to the specific. Search
results can be filtered using a combination
of a department, a subject and class number (only one entry per
box).
Once criteria is submitted, a results page is returned
with
class details matching your criteria.
A maximum of 200 class listings will be returned for submitted
criteria.
About Search Criteria:
Course Department |
All departments found in the general catalog. Using just this
criteria will return a very large list of available classes. |
Course Subject |
Some departments have multiple subjects, so using this criteria
will typically allow for a more narrow search than just the class
department. It is not necessary to combine department and subject
in the search criteria. |
Class Number |
The number or alpha-numeric combination that identifies a specific
class and is used with the course subject. Example: 3, 4A and 180T
as found in Anth 3, Acct 4A and CTET 180T. Do not include
the subject in this field. A search on a number with no other criteria
will return classes across all departments which match that number. |
Description |
This is the actual title of the class as found in the General Catalog.
Partial spellings are accepted here but misspellings will not return
the proper results. Example: 'acc' will return a number of accounting
courses; 'accounting' will return nothing. |
Add Classes from the Results Page to your Sschedule(s).
- To add classes to a schedule, click the check box next to the course
subject for the schedule you want
- Then click "Add Selected Course(s)"
button to update your schedule(s)
- Once a class is added to a schedule
it will appear with a colored check mark.
- You may click into the
First
or Second Schedule to view your additions and make changes to your
schedule(s).
- Remember that Schedule Planner is a time management
tool
and does not take the place of registration.
General Search Tips:
Watch Spelling |
If a subject or department was hand-typed rather
than selected from the provided list, be sure spelling is
correct and that a character has not been left out. Example: The
subject for Biology is 'Biol', not 'Bio'. |
Catalog Numbers |
These entries must match exactly with the course you're looking
for. Example: a search conducted using the subject 'acct' and the
number '4' will return no results, but using the number '4A' will
return all the listings for 'Financial Accounting'. |
Finding a Specific Class |
Use Subject and Number in combination for the best results in returning
a specific course. |
Multi-class Searches |
By inputting multiple subjects (or departments) and multiple class
numbers it is possible to return a list that contains all or nearly
all courses making up a potential schedule. |
Supporting Documents |

contains helpful reference materials for class search. |
