Before You Register
- Be sure to review all instructions below and use Schedule Planner
at
My Fresno State
to build and print a class schedule.
- Check for registration holds by accessing
My Fresno State.
They are listed under Holds
and To Do List.
- Wait until your scheduled appointment time to call; you will not be
able to register prior to your appointment time.
- Your registration appointment will be e-mailed to you, or can be viewed
from your Student Portfolio at
My Fresno State.
- Have your student ID number or, Social Security Number on hand. The
student ID number is the newly assigned number that appears on your
registration information sheet.
- Have on hand your Personal Identification Number (PIN), without it
you will not be able to register.
- Use a touch-tone telephone, one that sends a tone when you press
a key.
- If you have call waiting, check your local telephone book on how to
temporarily disconnect this feature. You may be disconnected if you
receive an incoming call while you are connected to the registration
system.
During Your Touch-tone Session
Hours of operation 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week.
- To register call (559) 294-7827 (294-STAR)
- Listen for voice prompts to guide you through each transaction. You
will hear the following menu items:
Press 1, for General Information
Press 2, for Grades
Press 3, for Registration Functions
Press 4, to List your Schedule of Classes
Press 5, to Change your PIN
Press *1, to Return to the Main Menu
Press *8, to Repeat the Last Prompt
Press *9, to End the Call
- It is not necessary to enter the # (pound) key after each entry;
only when prompted. A voice response will guide you through each transaction.
- At the phone menu prompt, Press 2 for Registration Functions.

Next, you will be prompted to enter your Student ID number (press
1) or,
Social Security Number (press 2).
- You will be prompted to enter your Personal Identification Number
(PIN). If you are new/returning to the university and you have not created
a PIN number, you will be asked to enter your six-digit birth date (MMDDYY).
After you enter your birth date, you will be prompted to create a four-digit
PIN of your choice.
- Once you are within the registration function, the following menu
items will be available.
Press 1, for registration general information
Press 2, to add a class
Press 3, to drop a class,
Press 4, to swap a class, (the “swap” feature lets you
add
and drop a class in one step)
Press 5, to list your classes for this term,
Press 6, to list open sections of a class,
Press *1, to return to the main menu,
Press *8, to repeat the last prompt,
- If a class is full and you have a permission number, you must add
this course via the Web.
- After you have enrolled in your classes,go to the Web to print your
schedule. The Registrar's Office will not be mailing a copy of your
class schedule to you.
- Before disconnecting your call, confirm your registration by obtaining
a list of your classes using the list function.
