Janice Peterson
Dr. Janice Peterson received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She also holds an M.A. in Agricultural Economics (Community Economic Development) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a B.A. in Economics from California State University, Fresno. Before joining the faculty at California State University, Fresno, Dr. Peterson was a faculty member at Wells College and at the State University of New York, Fredonia, where her areas of specialty included the economic status of women, welfare policy, and economics education (curriculum and pedagogy). She also worked on welfare reform, workforce development, and retirement policy issues in Washington, D.C. at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) and the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). She is the co-editor of The Elgar Companion to Feminist Economics and The Economic Status of Women Under Capitalism. Her work has also been published in a number of edited volumes and economics journals.
