What is Army ROTC?
Army ROTC is a college elective that focuses on leadership
and management skills. The ROTC program consists of the
Basic Course and the Advanced Course. The Basic Course
provides college students the ability to learn about and
experience the US Army without incurring any military
obligation during their freshman and sophomore years. The
Advanced Course prepares juniors, seniors and graduate
students for commissioning as officers in the US Army.
Using the US Army as a case study, students examine
military organizational culture, roles and missions of the
armed forces, leadership management, and leader
communication skills. Additionally, through practical
exercises students develop individual leadership skills in
problem solving, land navigation, and rifle marksmanship.
Army ROTC also helps students acquire the leadership skills
and credentials employers are looking for in employees and
future managers. |
