This scholarship
type is awarded to high school seniors who will soon graduate or obtain
an equivalent certificate. Competition for these scholarships is keen,
as over 6,000 students from across the country compete for them.
Scholarships may cover up to $20,000 of tuition and fees per year or
Room and Board up to $10,000, depending on what the awardee chooses. Scholarship
awardees also receive a book allowance of $1,200 per year ($600/semester)
and receive a monthly tax-free stipend ranging from $300 to $500 per
month. The application deadline is December 1 of the fall semester of
senior year. Applications can be submitted online or you can get a paper
copy at Fresno State Army ROTC. Interviews are conducted and a board is held to
select awardees. Campus scholarships, with the same benefits stated
above, may be available to those freshmen
students not receiving a National Scholarship who enroll in Army ROTC at
Fresno State or Fresno City College. Campus scholarship offers can be
granted at anytime during the school year.
