"Metaphors"

I'm like the muscle between skin and bone;
I don't know which to stay attached with.

I'm like the beef patty in the burger;
I don't know which bun I should stay closer to.

I'm like the layer of glue between the piece of paper and the object;
I don't know which one to hold tighter onto.

I'm like the image in the television;
I don't know if I should be watched or not.

I'm like the juice inside a lemon;
I don't know if I should spill out or dry up inside.

I am a Hmong American.
I am the generation after the immigrants;
the generation with two customs-
two traditions-
two ways of doing things.

I'm stuck in the middle.
What can I do?

What can you do?
