|
|
By Brandon Hamilton
|
32,000 feet up the Little Boy asked
"Why am I here?"
"You will end it all, stop all the wars."
"Can't your boys do that?"
"You will make it so our boys won't die."
"What about the boys and girls down there?"
"Simply casualties, some die so our boys may live."
"But our boys signed up for war, these people did not."
"You are just a Little Boy just do your job!"
"Fine" and Little Boy jumped, 2,000 feet up everyone disappeared.
32,000 feet up the Fat Man asked
"Why am I here!"
"You will end this war and make them surrender."
"Give them time and you will get your surrender!"
"We need to save our boys."
"Your boys are safe the war is done!"
"They are stubborn and will not give."
"You are hasty and impatient."
"You are a stupid Fat Man, just do your job!"
"Fine" and Fat Man jumped, 2,000 feet up everyone disappeared.
The Little Boy asked the Fat Man
"Did we end all the wars?"
"No just this one."
"Did we save our boys?"
"Yes by sacrificing someone else's."
"Why are we here?"
"To kill and kill and kill for years to come."
"Why?"
"It is our job."
Then they both disappeared.
They disappeared into the clouds, and the snow, and the ground
They disappeared into the people, into their blood and into their children.
