Editor in Chief (EIC):
  Supervises all areas of APR planning, training, personnel and production. Has significant reporting and editorial responsibilities. Delegates additional duties in the best interest of the publication. Creates and coordinates staff recruitment, training and retention programs. Serves as a liaison between the newspaper and its readership.

  Responsible for fiscal budget and payroll of staff. Maintains all financial records. Reports directly to Advisors and The Collegian buisness manager.

  Must ensure legality, integrity and ethical standards of the print and online versions of the newspaper. Has access to all APR records, and line of communication. Allocates staff access to website, on-line forum, email and mail.

  Ensures copy meets guidlines and is submitted for sever upload at least five days before publication days.
Managing Editor (a.k.a. Staff Editor):
  Assists EIC in managing all aspects of the publication. Has significant reporting and editorial responsibilities. Coordinates staff recruitment, and training. Manages staff duties in the best interest of the publication. Serves as a liaison between the newspaper and its readership.

  Assists in fiscal budget and payroll of staff. Deals with all financial records. Has access to all APR records and lines of communication.
Copy Editor:
  Primary responsibility for careful preparation of all copy, according to APR and AP style. Shall also prepare copy according to grammatical, ethical and legal standards. Have major responsibilites and other duties in proofreading news and advertising. Shall assume other duties as assigned by superiors, including siginificant reporting responsibilities. Oversee and work in conjunction with assisting copy editors.
Contributors:
  Contributors cover the whole range of APR positions. They are volunteers who donate thier time and work to the publication. Usually former paid staff. Duties cover every position at the discretion of EIC and Managing Editor.
Photo Editor:
  Supervisies and coordinates all photo assignments, working with editors. Generates photo ideas. Provides thumbnail samples to editors. Manages darkroom accessibility by permission of The Collegian. Ensures darkroom security and orders supplies after confirmation from The Collegian. Supervises staff photographers.

  Should be familiar with Macintosh OS, Photoshop, and general photography skills. Must provide own equipment, reimbursement for film and printing provided. Digital cameras preferred.
Staff Photograpers:
  Complete assignments as designated by the Photo Editor, by APR EIC or Managing Editor. Generate photo ideas, enterprise photos and cutlines as requested. Process film, scan negatives and size images as assigned by photo editor or other APR editors. Photo supplies provided by APR for assignments only. Access to student publcations darkrooms and equipment provided. Use of personal camera equipment required.

  Should be familiar with Macintosh OS, Photoshop, and general photography skills. Must provide own equipment, reimbursement for film and printing provided. Digital cameras preferred.
Layout Editor:
  Works with other editors to design, edit and post the print layout version of the APR. Design must meet posting guidlines provided by The Collegian and APR. Copy must be ready for server up-load six days before publication day.

Must have knowledge of Macintosh OS, Windows OS, Photoshop, and publishing software (MS Publisher or QuarkExpress). Must also have experience in graphic design.

Optional knowledge base in webmastering to assist webmaster in on-line version of the APR. Has access to on-line forum.
Webmaster:
  Works with other editors to design, edit and post the online version of the APR by 8 A.M. on publication days. Knowledge of html required. Should be familiar with Macintosh OS, web publishing software, ftp procedures and Photoshop. Has access to all APR copys and website.
Writers:
  Complete assignments as designated by APR editors. Provide ongoing ideas and articles on a regular basis. Shall be responsible for improving the quality and content of all articles, as directed by supervising editors.

  Will maintain legal and ethical standards. May contribute in assisting editors in production of copy.
