BULLDOGS TAMED BY NORTHRIDGE

Mon. October, 8, 2007

The Bulldogs came up short in their home opener to Northridge on Saturday evening 8-2. Northridge got on the board first early in the first period, but the Dogs answered right back with a goal by Senior Magnus Toftgard. After one period of play, the score was tied at one. Fresno State couldn’t get their feet moving in the second period as Northridge was able to pop in three goals in the second to take a  4-1 lead. The third period found the Dogs still struggling to get in sink. After giving up an early goal to fall behind 5-1, Junior Jacob Winans was able to give the Bulldogs some hope. In the end his goal wasn’t enough to get Fresno State on the right track as the fans were sent home with a sour taste in their mouth.

Up next the Dogs face last years PCHA champions, San Diego State at home on October 13. The puck drops at 5:00pm. $5- General Admission, Students are FREE.

News and Notes: Freshman Phillip Matson was the recipient of this week’s Monkey Award for best player of the weekend. Northridge played the San Jose State Div II team Friday night in San Jose losing 12-2.
