Dogs Win Big at Home

    Sun. December 2, 2007

Fresno State ended the 2007 Fall Semester on a high note as they skated away with their first home victory of the season with a 13-2 thrashing of division rival College of the Canyons.  The victory broke a two game losing streak and added a much needed two points for the Dogs.

The scoring started quickly for the Dogs as Freshman Phillip Matson chipped the puck forward off the draw and past the Cougar Defensemen forcing their goaltender to make a play. The goalie slid out of his crease trying to stop the loose puck but couldn’t hold on to it as Senior Michael Gandy buried it top shelf.  C.O.C. would answer back only minutes later with a goal of their own coming off of a loose puck in front of the Dogs net.  However, Senior Magnus Toftgard wouldn’t let the Cougars hold build any momentum as he quickly scored three straight goals to put the Dogs up 4-1 midway through the first period. The Dogs continued to pressure the Cougars in their own zone and get shots on net ending the first period 5-1.

The Dogs spent the rest of the game working on the basics and skating hard. The final score found the Dogs victorious 13-2.
