Personal Statement
As a poet, a feminist scholar in African American Studies, and a new member
of the academic community at Fresno State, I am passionate about bringing a
broad view of culture, history and literature to my students in the Central
Valley. I’ve previously taught in various and variable places, including
New England, Louisiana, and South Africa. I’m fortunate to have the community
of poets performing at a number of public spaces in Fresno support me as my
California family!
