A special focus would be on contemporary images and representations of the Amerindian, African, and Asian cultures in Trinidad and Tobago. Get a whole new perspective from experiencing the mystique of Egypt, the land of Nubia at the heart of the African continent and its 5,000-year legacy on other world civilizations. Through readings, site visits and lectures, participants in this study tour will examine the historical, metaphysical, scientific, artistic, and cultural aspects of this great civilization. Special emphasis will be put on the theme “Continuity and Change” as participants explore the historical and contemporary links of the Nile Valley civilization to the rest of Africa, the African diaspora, the Arab-Islamic world and the Western World.
