Bulldog Testing Center (FFS 210 & UC 201)
The Bulldog Testing Center (BTC) is a campus facility that helps both faculty and students with their testing needs. We provide a proctored, secure, quiet, relaxing environment for test takers and a simple process for faculty to set-up the exam via email (see the Faculty heading below for directions). Our facility administers early takes and make-ups for exams that have or will be given in the classroom. The BTC also provides an excellent testing environment for department exams such as the Calculus Readiness Test (CRT), US Constitution Test, and the Upper Division Writing Exam (UDWE).
If you are interested in taking the TEAS, GRE, GRE Subject, TOEFL, PRAXIS, or any
non-Fresno state examinations please visit the Professional Examination Services department website.
Notice to faculty: The BTC can only accommodate a maximum of 100 exams each day. Faculty please note
that tests will be administered each day on a first-come, first-served basis. Please
turn in test materials and dates to use the BTC as early as possible to reserve your
preferred exam slot. BTC staff will do their best to accommodate original requests,
but we may need to work with your preferred days/times, as we cannot exceed the daily
100 exam max capacity.
BTC Policies & Procedures
BTC currently hosts full classroom exams on a limited basis pending availiability. (If interested in having your full class exam, please contact BTC staff at firstname.lastname@example.org to determine if your preferred day/time is available. Please inform students of our cell-phone policy. All cell phones/electronics must be COMPLETELY powered down (not on silent). ANY cellphone/electronics disruption including alarms, vibrating, and any other noise will result in the exam being voided and the student being asked to leave.
Students using the BTC must have their active Fresno State student ID. If they do not have their ID, they may go to the Bulldog Card Office at Joyal 156 to obtain a new card. Please note that a replacement ID will cost $10 payable in cash, check, or credit card at the Cashier's window.
Exams must be picked up by the instructor or a designated person with their employee ID. The BTC does not return exams via campus mail.
Exams can be set-up via email! Please send Cover sheets (Link below) and exam in one email to email@example.com

Upper Division Writing Exam (UDWE)
Scores for August 1st - October 26th are now available on both MyFresnostate and Blackboard.
The Upper Division Writing Exam (UDWE) is a fully on-line exam that is offered throughout the year composed of two 60-minute essays and one 10-minute break. The UDWE is designed to confirm that your writing skills are at the upper-division level.
Fresno State Undergraduate students who have completed either English 5A/5B or English 10 with a grade of C or better, and have completed 60 or more units may take the UDWE to satisfy the Upper Division Writing Skills requirement. It is strongly recommended that a passing score for the UDWE be achieved promptly after 60 units have been completed. The Upper Division Writing Skills requirement can also be fulfilled by successfully completing an upper division Writing course with a "W" designation (some majors require the class). Please click here for more information regarding W courses. Graduate students may not take the UDWE; graduate students should consult Graduate Studies regarding the graduate-level writing proficiency requirement.Undergraduate Fresno State students may receive 1 unit of credit (English 100W) for passing the UDWE. The unit of credit is not automatic, but may be requested by the student on the day of the test. In order to avoid extra fees, a student must be enrolled at Fresno State the semester the unit of credit is to be posted. If the additional unit moves a student from one fee category to another, the student will be billed accordingly. Non-resi- dent students will be billed non-resident tuition for the additional unit.
SPECIAL NOTE: Students may attempt the UDWE a maximum of 2 times. Failure to achieve a passing grade within 2 attempts will require a students to successfully complete a "W" course before graduation.
UDWE CREDIT: An undergraduate student at California State University, Fresno may receive 1 unit of credit (English 100W) for passing this exam. The unit of credit is not automatic, but may be requested by the student on the day of the test. In order to avoid extra fees, a student must be enrolled at Fresno State the semester the unit of credit is to be posted. It is imperative that the UDWS requirement be met within two semesters after completing 60 units. The UDWS requirement cannot be fulfilled by a class or test taken outside of The California State University system and cannot be satisfied at a CSU campus at which the student has not matriculated.
