Curricular Innovation for Student Success Projects

This program will fund travel for 2-3 faculty from a single department to attend the National Center for Academic Transformation’s annual meeting in March 2008 and release time for one faculty member to prepare a proposal to the NCAT C2R program.  The proposal is due in November 2008, and if successful, would require attendance at conferences in March and April 2009, development of a redesigned course in Spring/Summer 2009 with implementation in Fall 2009 and reporting of results in Spring 2010 at a national conference.  The application guide is available here. If the proposal is not successful, efforts would be made to implement course redesign without the disciplinary workshop and interaction with redesign scholars.  For more information, please contact Dennis Nef.

Research Activity Awards (RAA)

The Research Activity Awards (RAA) are competitive internal funds that support assigned time and related expenses for a faculty member or team of faculty members to develop proposals for major projects that hold high promise of attracting substantial external funds.  Proposals resulting from this funding must request major external support for a new project or a major expansion of an existing program, and it is expected that those involved would submit multiple proposals to more than one funding source.  Previous successful proposals were very specific, often identifying the potential funding agencies, the programs, and the deadlines for submission.  They also included a clear timeline for activities leading to submissions, and their budgets were carefully crafted.  More information is available at the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs website.
