Jovana Lopez (Spanish)
Jovana’s graduate research project is devoted to studying the transnational writings
of Caribbean women writers. Jovana has presented her research at the Fresno State
Graduate Symposium and is the co-founder and past president of A.P.C.E. (Asociación
para la promoción de las culturas en español), with which she organized multiple ASI-sponsored
events on campus. Jovana has worked as a TA teaching Spanish to Fresno State and University
High school students, and she has played an extraordinary service role for the Spanish-speaking
community on campus as a reporter for La Voz de Aztlán, a co-facilitator for Entre
Mujeres- Latinx Support group-, and an instructional staff and former peer advisor
at C.A.M.P. (College Assistance Migrant Program), and a student lead coordinator at
the Cross Cultural and Gender Center, where her services have been recognized with
the “Cross Cultural Interaction Recognition Award."
