Fresno State awarded $30k environmental grant
Fresno State’s Office of Community and Economic Development and Community and Regional Planning Center have been given a $39,880 environmental grant from the Fresno Regional Foundation.
Starting January 2015, the one year grant will allow OCED and CRPC to establish “StreetsAlive: a Walking and Bicycling Audit Program” which is designed to promote walkable and bicycle-friendly communities within Kings, Fresno and Merced counties. Overall, the StreetsAlive initiative is to facilitate and inspire long-term policy change where communities recognize walkability and bicycle infrastructure and possible environmental changes that provide opportunities for improvement and embrace the opportunity to make these changes.
StreetsAlive will provide the selected communities with the resources and knowledge to foster community growth and development from the ground up.
