Supervisor/Manager Information

Supervisor occupational safety responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, eliminating and/or minimizing workplace hazards
  • Ensuring that employees receive training regarding:
    • Injury and Illness Prevention Program
    • Emergency procedures (departmental and campus-wide)
    • Hazard Communication (chemicals)
    • Job Specific hazard training
  • Providing supervision to ensure that employees perform work in a safe manner and in accordance with established rules and procedures
  • Implementing disciplinary actions when necessary to correct unsafe work behaviors
  • Participating in accident investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
