About Advancement
The Vice President for University Advancement manages and oversees Advancement Operations, Governmental Relations and the offices of University Development, University Communications and Alumni Relations.

University Advancement generates the external recognition, support and financial resources the university needs to carry out its mission and to achieve its aspirational goals.
What We Do
Working with alumni, parents, donors and the community, University Advancement broadens the resources available to the university to enhance academic quality and strengthen the region.
All units of University Advancement work together to bring recognition and resources to the university. The University Advancement Division carries out its mission through the following operating units:
- Advancement Operations
- Alumni Association
- Development
- Governmental Relations
- University Communications
Fresno State's Alumni Association reconnects and grows relationships with alumni and the community. University Communications builds better understanding of the university on campus and throughout the region. Development works closely with faculty, volunteers and donors to help meet school, college and program-specific needs. Governmental Relations provides support to the university community with regional, state and federal relations matters, including Fresno State advocacy and legislative and constituent issues. Advancement Operations is responsible for budgeting, position control, gift agreement review, analysis and reporting, policies and procedures, in addition to support of the Fresno State Foundation Board of Governors and the Bulldog Foundation Board.
