QuestionsITS AIT Training: AIC --- CETL -- Digital Campus Technology-Enhanced Classrooms
One reason that the university chose to provide laptops to faculty was to facilitate the use of instructional technology in the classroom. Clearly, this will require upgrades to current instructional facilities. Most of these upgrades will be funded through development activities. However, in order to meet the need generated by the first wave of faculty laptop leases, the university has found funding for the immediate upgrade to the baseline level of about 16 classrooms and the provision of 20-25 mobile digital projectors. The classrooms and portable projectors are being allocated to the schools/colleges on a full-time-equivalent faculty basis, with ongoing discussions to determine classroom priorities. The goal is to upgrade all classrooms to at least Level I in the next five years.
