Welcome
Fresno State promotes a healthy lifestyle and a safe learning environment for our students. The Alcohol Safety Council (ASC) serves Fresno State and its students by creating policies and activities that promote this environment. Emphasizing safe and moderate alcohol consumption, the ASC creates alcohol-free events, recommends policy changes as needed, and forms strong partnerships with various aspects of law enforcement.
Along with the main Council, various subcommittees were formed to address specific areas.
- Student Subcommittee - creates alcohol-free, fun, alternative events for students
- Faculty Subcommittee - designs events and activities for increase faculty involvement in alcohol abuse awareness and prevention
- Outreach Subcommittee - reaches out to Fresno State feeder high schools to provide alcohol abuse prevention information to students
- Education and Prevention Subcommittee - plans effective learning opportunities for students regarding all aspects of alcohol abuse prevention and safety
The ASC is comprised of community leaders, prevention specialists, law enforcement officers and administrators, as well as faculty, staff, and students from Fresno State.
