Flight 93 on September 11, 2001; Lt. Cmdr.
Otis Vincent Tolbert [1985] - who was stationed at The Pentagon on
September 11, 2001; and Col.
Rick Husband [1990] - [pictured] who was Commander, NASA’s Space
Shuttle Columbia, which disintegrated with her crew upon re-entering the
Earth’s atmosphere on February 1, 2003.

Did
you know?
The Fresno State Alumni Association [FSAA] allocates 10% of annual
membership fees to a Student Scholarship Endowment Fund! In 2004-05, the
FSAA is awarding scholarships totaling $80,000 to students based on
academic achievement and financial need. The
FSAA leads all of the alumni
associations on the 23 campuses of the CSU system with student scholarship
giving!
A
graduate student, Argelia Lara is completing her MS degree in
counseling. She is attending Fesno State with her younger sister, Carmen,
and they are from Wasco, CA. Argelia is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor
Society, received a Graduate Equity Fellowship and was named an
Outstanding Graduate Student last year. “The FSSA scholarship and support
will assist me in succeeding,” she says. “Thank you so much.” Argelia will
pursue a doctoral program in educational policy.
Jeffery A.
Campbell [June 11, 1961 - June 29, 2004] recently passed away. A
member of Phi Theta Kappa and National Honor Societies, he maintained a 4.0 GPA while at Fresno State. Jeff had
also been named to the Dean’s List, was studying business
administration with an international option and was a FSAA student member.

The Ohio State University, is the recipient of the 2004 James P. Barry
Ohioana Award for Editorial Excellence by the Ohioana Library
Association.
Kevin
Bradshaw [1993], Vice President of Finance and Controller for
Gottschalks, assisted in ringing the closing bell at the NYSE on September
17, 2004 to celebrate the Company's 100th year of service. A Summa Cum
Laude graduate from Fresno State's Craig School of Business, Kevin is
pictured with his wife, Patricia.
Melissa
Wolfmann [1992] recently sang selections from "Un Ballo in
Maschera" [The Masked Ball] in a benefit performance for the Townsend
Opera Players in Modesto. She’s an
FSAA Member.

[1999] is the Mayor Pro Tem for the City of
Clovis, CA.
Roy
Christopher [1957, 1961] has won his 8th Emmy Award at the 56th
Emmy Annual Primetime Emmy Award from the Academy of Television.
Christopher's win was for Outstanding Art Direction for a Multi-Camera
Series for his work on "Frazier." He’s a
FSAA Life Member.
Ryan
Garcia [2004] won the National Bicycle League’s Grand National Championship
in the men’s 22-29 expert class division.
Sylvia
Savala is exhibiting “Drawing the Line” at Whole Foods in Fresno
through October 30th. ArtHop reception is Thursday, October 7.
