A sophomore working towards a BA in business administration within the Craig School of Business, Angela Alejandro has been named a Craig Scholar. She graduated summa cum laude from San Joaquin Memorial High in Fresno. “The FSAA scholarship allows me to focus on my studies,” she says. “I can study more and work less.” Angela has declared an emphasis in accounting.

Frank S. Puccio is a senior majoring in business and marketing, with a minor in broadcast journalism. Governor Signs CSU Ed.D. Approval
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation on September 22 authorizing California State University, Fresno to independently offer the Doctor of Education [Ed.D.] degree, slated to begin in 2007.

Barbara Henkel [1996] is the new Assistant Director of Development for the Craig School of Business. She is an FSAA member.

San Joaquin River Clean-Up
Two Fresno State biology graduate students, Doug DeFlitch and Matthew Wielicki, were recently featured in The Fresno Bee for hauling away 229 discarded tires with RiverTree Volunteers.

Fresno Philharmonic: Jose Diaz
Jose Diaz, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, is the first recipient of the Fresno Philharmonic’s Endowed Principal Oboe Chair. He has occupied the principal oboe chair since 1984 and is an FSAA member.

Joel Abels [1996], Founding Director of Children's Musical Theaterworks in Fresno, has been honored by Union Bank of California at its Salute to Small Business Awards.

A. Reza Assemi [1998] has opened Broadway Studios, a exhibition space for 25 artists in Fresno.

Michael Benito [1985] has been promoted to the new position of Director of Sales and Business Development at Heritage Commerce Corp. in San Jose, CA. 

Ozeme J. Bonnette [1999] is the author of the recently published "Get What Belongs to You: A Christian Guide to Managing Your Finances" [2005]. She also has an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Business. She is a FSAA Life Member.

Justin Kase Conder [2004] was selected by Y-101 Radio in Fresno as one of 30 participants in a version of "The Bachelorette" with Dina Blankengerger. In the end they won a trip to Las Vegas! 

Coke Hallowell [1957] was recently featured in "The Fresno Bee" for her volunteer efforts on behalf of San Joaquin River Parkway and Trust. She was also honored by the Fresno State Alumni Association at the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala in 2004. She and her husband, James Hallowell [1955] are FSAA members. 

Brian Haskins [1982] has joined the Fresno office of Leap-Carpenter-Kemps Insurance Agency. 

Dal Henderson [1966] is a well-known Fresno painter and artist that has installed giant pencils in the yard of his Fresno home.

Reynaldo Hernandez, Jr. [1997] is an artist working in animation, illustration and sculpture. He is based in the Oakland/Easy Bay area.

Brothers Kary Karahadian [1978] and Edward Karahadian co-own and operate Karahadian Dentistry in Fresno. 

Harold “Hal” Kissler [1968] is featured in the September/October 2005 issue of "HIS Magazine" as one of the Central California's top businessmen. The CEO of Manco Abbott, Inc., he and his wife, Maureen Lewis [1995] are FSAA Life Members.

K-JEWEL 99.3 FM in Fresno has three Fresno State alumni on its staff— Eric McCormick [1994], the General Sales Manager; Chris Nieto [1998] the Sports/Promotion Director; and James "Jim" C. Roberts, Jr. [1995] the Morning Show Host.

Louis Moreau [1990] of Domaine Louis Moreau has won two Silver Medals at the 2005 International Wine Challenge [London] for his 2002 Chablis 1st Cru Vaillons and 2002 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos. Moreau and his wife, Anne, recently hosted a private winery tour and wine tasting for the Craig School of Business' Executive MBA [Cohort II] in the Chablis region of France.

Gena Strang [1988] will be inducted into the Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame on November 3rd. She is the Hall's 22nd female among 264 inductees. [She played softball for Fresno State.] Strang is a FSAA member.

Margaret Thorburn [1971] serves as the President of the Kings River Conservancy. She and her husband, Jack Thorburn, are donors of the Thornburn Faculty Lounge at the Smittcamp Alumni House. She is also a FSAA member. 

Kathleen "Kathy" Wosika plays fiddle in the Fresno-based musical group Blind Dog.

Lar Yang [1999] is working with John Niemotka at Octane Advertising and Design in Fresno.

DeWayne Zinkin, Jr. [1996] is the CEO/President of Zinkin Entertainment & Sports Management, based in Fresno.
