[1980], an Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the University of
Minnesota, uses the "clicker system" in his microeconomics class of more
than 100 students. Students use clickers and provide instant feedback on
whether or not they understand what's being taught, much like the
"instant" voting devices used on the live finales of "American Idol."
