Fresno
native Jodi Miysaki is a sophomore earning a BA degree in Mass
Communication and Journalism. She is also a member of the Student Alumni
Association. Jodi comes from a Bulldog family, too. Her parents, Rick and
Marlene Miysaki, also attended Fresno State. “This
FSAA
scholarship helps me greatly,” she said. “Thank you for the support.”
Born in Provo, Utah; Jonathan Good recently graduated with his BS
degree in Nursing from Fresno State. A member of the campus ROTC, Jonathon
plans to begin his career as a U. S. Army nurse. “Thank you for this

The new $17.6 million
Student Recreation
Center, also known as the West Complex adjacent to the

has officially opened. The 92,000 square-foot, two-story building was

Top Kuwaiti Student in the U.S.
is a Bulldog
Alia Qali, a Kuwaiti citizen and
Fresno
State graduating senior has been bestowed Student of the Year the National
Union of Kuwaiti Students. She was selected from 1,500 Kuwaiti students
nationwide. Slated to graduate this May, Qali plans on attending
Georgetown University to pursue a master’s degree in international
studies.
KFSR 90.7 FM Honors Black History
Throughout the month of February,
Fresno
State non-commercial radio station KRSR 90.7 FM will broadcast four,
one-hour features on the historical and artistic contributions of peoples
of African heritage. The programs will air on Sunday mornings, February 5th,
12th, 19th and 26th at
9:00 AM.

The Fresno Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the

The Amateur Softball Association has selected the nation’s Top 50
pre-season picks with senior, All-America shortstop
Christina Clark [#14] included on the list. Earlier this year,
Clark also garnered her third straight pre-season
WAC Player of the Year accolade.

Fresno State students now have an identity for their very own section at
all Bulldog sporting events. An official university-recognized student
organization founded in November by current Fresno State students John

[2005] has been hired as an Administrator for Sierra Pacific Orthopaedic &
Spine Center Medical Group in Fresno. He recently completed the
Executive MBA Program in the Craig School of Business at Fresno State.

Richard Coviello
[1976] is retiring as Fresno County Entomology Farm Advisor with the
University of California Cooperative Extension, after 35 years of studying
agricultural pests.
Sharon M. Crofts
[1994] was recently promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief
Compliance Officer at the Bank of Hawaii.
Cheri Cruz
[1996, 2001] has been hired as the Tutorial Services Coordinator and
Academic Specialist with the Learning Resource Center at Fresno State.
William Dyck
took 2nd Place in the
OLN cable reality mini-series, "Wanted: Ted or Alive," starring Ted Nugent
as host.
Joan [Caglia] Finch
[1973] and her husband, Clifford, have owned and operated Cliff Finch's
Topiary Zoo in Fresno since 1981. On a side note, their son is Andy Finch,
a member of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Team [Snowboarding].
Melanie [Glenn] Fortier
[1998] and
Warren Fortier
[1996, 1998] are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Ava Lauren
Fortier. She was born on August 25, 2005.

Scott Griffin
[1976] was recently featured in CIO Interviews of "CIO TODAY." Griffin is
the Chief Information Officer for Boeing, based in Chicago.

[1996] serves as
President of the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
He is a FSAA member.

Genelle [Taylor] Taylor Kumpe
[1995] and Matthew Kumpe are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy,
Aiden Christopher Kumpe. He was born on May 31, 2005.

Stephen Paul Ortega
[1990, 2005] has been hired as San Joaquin Valley's Merchant Account
Executive for Entertainment Publications.
He is a FSAA member.
Mary-Ann Warmerdam
[1979] was named the Director of the Department
of Pesticide Regulation by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger [R-Calif.] and
confirmed by the California Legislature.
She is a FSAA member.
Matthew White
[1996] is a realtor with Prudential Real Estate in Fresno.
Kristi [Montevecchi] Whittaker
[1999] and
Ryan Whittaker
[2000] are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Isabella
Montevecchi Whittaker.
She was born on December 2, 2005.
Frank
Carl Wittwer
[2005] passed
away on January 18, 2006 during US Navy training exercises near Miramar,
Calif. A FA-18 pilot stationed in NAS Lemoore [Squadron 97], Lt. Cmder.
Wittwer
recently completed the
Executive MBA program [Cohort II] in the Craig School of Business at
Fresno State.
A FSAA member, he officially graduated on December 22, 2005.
