[Robertson] Chandler
[1971] is being honored at the 10th annual Common Threads luncheon on
April 7th with the Tapestry Award. A founding member of Common
Threads, she currently serves as a Member of the California State
University Board of Trustees. Chandler is an
FSAA Life member.
Phillip
J. Cline
[1973] was recently featured in "The Profile" of "The Business Journal" in
Fresno. He is the District Attorney for the County of Tulare.
Roy
Christopher
[1957] will return
for his 17th assignment as production designer of an Academy
Awards® Presentation. [This year's set design includes inspirations from
S. Charles Lee,
the
architect that designed Fresno's
Tower Theater, which
is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.] He has received a
total of 35 Emmy nominations, 16 of them for his work on the Oscar
telecast. Christopher has won a total of eight Emmys, six for his work on
Oscar sets. He is an
FSAA Life member.

Manuel DeLuna
[1995], author of
"Bent to the Earth, returns to the Fresno State campus for a poetry
reading on March 23 at the University Business Center. DeLuna is one of
five finalists for the National Book Critics' Circle Award for his debut
book.
Edward
Diener
[1968], a professor of psychology at the University of Illinois,
Champaign, was referred to "Dr. Happiness" in the January 2005 issue of
"Time." He returns to his alma mater in April for a panel discussion on

[1977] has been appointed Vice President and General Manager for Schering
Canada, based in Montreal. He has worked for Schering-Plough since 1978.

two-time finisher in the Climb to Kaiser, will soon be completing his

Haller [1989], Antelope Valley College's Sport Information
Director, was selected as the 2006 recipient of the California Community
College Sports Information Association's BRASS TOP Award— Bringing Respect
And Superior Service To Our Profession. The award will be presented on

"Eddie" Jimenez [1995] is the new columnist in the Local & State
section of "The Fresno Bee." An
FSAA member, he's worked at The Bee for 20 years.

Kessey [2001] has an exhibit, "Nest," at Gallery 25 in Fresno
throughout the month of March 2006

Lemos [1993] has been appointed the Director of Communication for
the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
Michael
Leonardo has been hired as the new Public Utilities' Director for
the City of Clovis. For the past 23 years, he has worked for CalTrans and
served as Director of District 6 since 2001.

Maiorana [1999] is the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships
for the Fresno Grizzlies.
Paul
Maragoni [1978] has joined the ConSol in Stockton as a Mechanical
Engineer.
Brian
Turner [1994] returns to the Fresno State campus for a poetry
reading on March 23 at the University Business Center. He is the author of
"Here, Bullet," the winner of the 2005 Beatrice Hawley Award.
Deanna
Atalig [Castro] Sablan [1997] has been named a Certified
International Auditor by the Institute of Internal Auditors. She is a
Senior Analyst withthe Office of the Public Auditor for the Commonwealth
of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Dale
Samuelian [1974] has been recognized as on of the top three Sales
Persons of the Year for 2005 by Pearson Realty. He is an FSAA Life member.
William
"Bill" Shaughnessy [1987] is the General Manager for Microsoft/MSN
based in Redmond, Wash. His current project includes consolidating MS'
efforts in Asia-Pacific, Greater China and Japan. He is an
FSAA member.
Janice
M. Stevens [1993] has written the text for the new book, "Fresno's
Architectural Past," featuring the historic watercolors of Pat Hunter.
Available at the Kennel Bookstore, as well as at Gallery II in
Fresno, They have autographed a donated copy of the new book to the

Towery [1990], an FFA advisor at Cascade High School in Turner,
Oregon, was recently featured in "The Capital Press" a daily newspaper in
Salem, Oregon.
Jeff
Weaver [1998] joined the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as the
starting pitcher. The former Fresno State pitcher is wearing "Bulldog red"
again, this time jersey #36. Most recently with the LA Dodgers, Weaver's
one-year contract as a free agent is valued at $9 million.
Lloyd
Wilfong [1996], who recently returned from deployment with
Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Army National Guard, presented a flag
flown over Kuwait to the Chawanakee Unified School District. Wilfong
teaches at the Lighthouse facility for Chawanakee Academy.
Gilbert
Wilmer [1949] was featured "Best-Ever Workshops" for Workshop 4: A
Place for Everything, a division of woodmagazine.com and published by
"Better Homes & Gardens." A hardcore do-it-yourselfer, Gil is an
FSAA member.
