Jane Addams Statue Unveiled.Jane Addams Statue Unveiled
The newest addition to the Peace Garden, a life-sized statue of peace advocate and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Jane Addams, has been unveiled. The statue is the creation of graduate art student,
Claudia Nolan. The statue is situated near statues of Mahtama Gandhi [1990], Cesar Chavez [1996] and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. [1999]. The Peace Garden at Fresno State is adjacent to the Henry Madden Library.

Brian Turner, Class of 1994.Brian Turner [1994]  has been named winner of the Northern California Book Award for his collection of poems, "Here, Bullet." It was the fourth award for the book.

[Photo by Peter Robertson].Todd Morgan Beamer, a Fresno State alumnus, is featured in the new Universal Pictures’ film, Universal Pictures' "Flight 93."“Flight 93,” which depicts the events of September 11, 2001. He is portrayed by actor David Alan Basche in the film that opened April 28th. Aboard Flight 93 on September 11th, he immortalized— “Let’s roll!"  In Memory of OTIS VINCENT TOLBERT, Bulldog Walkway at Fresno State. [Photo by Peter Robertson].Todd Beamer is memorialized on Bulldog Walkway at Fresno State, located at the Save Mart Center, with another September 11th victim and Fresno State graduate, Otis Vincent Tolbert, Jr. who perished at the Pentagon.

He teaches modern world history, US history, American government and economics at Fresno High School.

She is a three-time US Olympic Gold Medalist and she was honored by the FSAA at the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala in 2003. She has also been honored by the FSAA at Bulldog Walkway, located at the Save Mart Center.

Bill Choate, Class of 1984. [Photo: THE FRESNO BEE].William "Bill" Coate [1984] has once again led a cross-country wagon train carrying Fresno County students. This year's trek was in conjunction with the celebration of Fresno County's Sesquicentennial-- 150th anniversary. 

Congressman Jim Costa, Class of 1974.James "Jim" Costa [1974] has been given the Spirit of Enterprise Award by the Greater Area Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce for his pro-business voting record representing US Congressional District 20. An FSAA Life member, he was honored by the FSAA at the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala in 2002

Tracy Hostmyer, Class of 1988. [Photo: THE NEW YORK TIMES].Tracy Hostmyer [1988] [pictured with Peter Levine] was featured in "The New York Times" for her role of the Jewish Wife in Bertolt Brecht's "The Private Life of the Master Race" in performances Off-Broadway.

Jaskip Kahoon and Jasleen Kang.Jasdip Kahlon and Jasleen Kang were married on March 25, 2006. They are both Fresno State alumni.

Kristine Leon, Class of 2005; and Eddy Gifford, Class of 2005.Kristin Leon [2005] and Eddy Gifford [2005] were married on June 25, 2005 in Fallbrook, Calif. 

Richard and Colette Murray.Richard A. Murray [1964] and his wife, Colette Murray, recently returned from their daughter's, Thea Kano, directing debut at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall with the New York City Master Chorale. They are FSAA Life members.

Imad Naffa, Class of 1983.Imad Naffa [1983], the Founder and President of Naffa International, Inc., was recently featured in Fresno's "The Business Journal."

Henry T. Perea, Class of 2001; and Yahaira Garcia.Henry T. Perea [2001] and Yahaira Garcia are engaged to be married in August. He serves the people of District 7 as Councilmember for the City of Fresno.

Amanda Scott, Class of 2001.Amanda Scott [2001] has been named to the NCAA's 11-member 25th Anniversary Division I Softball Team. She was a four-time All-American and MVP of the 1998 College World Series and helped lead the Bulldogs to the 1998 NCAA title.

Tony Serna, Class of 1975.Antonio "Tony" Serna [1975], principal of Villalovoz Elementary School in Tracy, Calif. was named Educator of the Year at the Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Cesar Chavez, held by the Tracy Unified School District. 

Ronald Zito, Class of 1984. [Photo: THE FRESNO BEE].Ronald Zito [1984] was highlighted in the article, "Buggy for Beetles," published by "The Fresno Bee." He owns a 1966 Beetle which has a "Bulldog Red" paint job.
