professor emeritus of economics and founder of the "UCLA tradition" in
economics, has established the Armen A. Alchian Chair in Economic Theory
at UCLA. He attended Fresno State, but graduated from Stanford in 1934.

was referred to as Fresno's "Ambassador of Art" by "Fresno Magazine" in
the April, 2005 issue. In addition to being an artist, he owns and
operates Ashford Advertising.

[1998] was featured as the "HIS Man of the Month for June" in the May/June
2006 issue of "HIS Magazine." Assemi, who spearheaded Pearl
Studio and Broadway Studios, was referred to as "one of a kind and is on his way to
successfully changing the face of an entire neighborhood, one building at
a time."

[1997] won the 79th annual Fresno City Amateur on Memorial Day weekend. As
a student, he was a member of the Bulldog golf team.

[1966] is the recipient of the Courage Award from the Kennedy Club of the
San Joaquin Valley for his efforts on behalf of all the citizens of the
Fresno community. He represents the people of District One for the City of
Fresno.

[2006] was awarded the President's Medal at Fresno State's 95th
Commencement Ceremonies held at the Save Mart Center. He was also the
Craig School of Business Dean’s Medalist and completed his B.S. in
business administration, finance option. As a member of the Bulldog
football team, he was the top academic performer and was named to the
Academic All-WAC team for the 2004 season. Cooper is an
FSAA member.

a professor of psychology in the College of Sciences at Virginia Tech, has
been conferred the title "Professor Emerita" by its Board of Visitors. She
has been a member of the Virginia Tech community since 1987.

[1992] owns and operates Retro Rag in Fresno's Tower District. The store
was recently featured in "The New York Times" for selling "pristine
vintage clothing" and stocking "disco duds, 80's T-shirts and classic 50's
chiffon dresses."

Martz
[1974], a former Fresno State tight end, recently returned to visit his
alma mater. [Pictured with Pat Hill, Fresno State football coach]. A former football coach for Bullard High [Fresno], as well as
two stints at Arizona State, he's also coached for the Los Angeles Rams
and the Washington Redskins. He was the offensive coordinator for the St.
Louis Rams, which won Super Bowl XXXIV and was subsequently named head
coach. Currently, he's the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions.

there. He started his firefighter career at the age of 16 as a volunteer
with the Soquel Fire District.

[1972] is an artist that paints colorful watercolors that are inspired by
the beauty and bounty of God's creation. The Fresno County Employees
Credit Union features her distinctive portraits of grapes on the checks
and credit cards used by its 30,000 members.

[1983] recently visited to campus to announce the First Hispanic Youth
Symposium in the western U.S., which will be held at Fresno State. She is
the Director of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Economic Impact

[1994, 1997] was featured in "The Fresno Bee" publication "Get Out!" She's
Chief Operations Officer for the Regional Jobs Initiative with the Office
of Community and Economic Development.

[1980], sports director at KFSN Channel 30 [ABC] in Fresno has been
presented the 2006 Jim Tucker Award by the Department of Mass
Communication and Journalism. Taylor was honored for "journalistic
achievement throughout this 28-year career at KFSN."

[1983] was promoted to Colonel with the US Air Force. He is the Commander
of the 144th Operations Group at the Fresno Air National Guard Base.

[2002, 2006] was named the University Graduate Medalist at Fresno State's
recent commencement ceremonies. Also the Dean's Medalist for the College
of Arts and Humanities, she completed her M.A. in English, Literature
option, with a 3.94 GPA.
