In the last dozen years, the FSAA has awarded over $500,000 to deserving Fresno State students through alumni sponsored scholarships. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Dr. Peter Mehas to the California State University Board of Trustees. Mehas, 67, a Fresno State alumnus, most recently served as the superintendent of schools for Fresno County from 1990 to 2006. [Online]

"The Desert King".Frederiko Aguilar recently wrote the book "The Desert Has No King." It is the story of a young man named Frankie Santos who journeys to reach the peak of power and ecstasy by becoming the mogul of the largest casino in Las Vegas, NV.

Wayne Bush [1983] was featured in the article titled “New blood bank held up” published by “The Fresno Bee.”

Eric Coyne.Eric Coyne [1994] was featured in the article "Coyne has viewed media from both sides of the fence" published by "The Porterville Recorder." Coyne is the Media Officer for Tulare County.

Joel Davis.Joel Davis [1986] is the author of “Justice Waits; The UC Davis Sweetheart Murders,” a book about two murders that took place at UC Davis in 1980. Davis is an award-winning Sacramento-based journalist and college journalism instructor.

Mike Der Manouel, Jr.Michael Der Manouel, Jr. [1985] is President/CEO of Der Manouel Insurance Group. He also hosts a radio show on KMJ. 

James Gonzalez.James Gonzalez [1992] a producer at KGPE, CBS 47, won two Associated Press Mark Twain awards at the 55th annual awards celebration. He received awards for "Best News Broadcast 30 Minutes", and "Best Spot News."

Richard Houghten.Richard Houghten [1968] is the head of the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies in La Jolla, Calif.

Ottis Hutchison, Jr. Ottis Hutchinson, Jr. [1983] is Chief Financial Analyst for Pacific Air Forces at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. He has also become the new 50th Mission Support Group commander.

Bill Jones.Bill Jones [1971] will open as a keynote speaker for the Annual Meeting of the National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA) in Sacramento at the Hyatt Regency, April 2-5. He is the Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Pacific Ethanol, Inc. and is an FSAA Life Member.

Rhonda (Fried) Jorn.Rhonda (Fried) Jorn [1989] is the Public Affairs Officer for the City of Fresno. She is an FSAA member.

Lisadent Gallery. Adam Longatti [2002] is showcasing his oil paintings depicting San Joaquin Valley agriculture in the Lisadent Gallery in San Francisco throughout April. 

Deborah Poochigian.Deborah Poochigian [1974] was named 2007 Woman of the Year for the 14th Senate District of California. She is an FSAA life member.

Richard Rodriquez [1972] received two awards for the California Office of AIDS and the Project Team.  Rodriguez is the Assistant Deputy Director for the California Department of Health Services.

San Francisco Chronicle podcasts.Eric Stern [1987], is a winemaker at the Landmark vineyards in Napa Valley, and Gregory Stach [1992] is an assistant winemaker. The winery was featured in the “San Francisco Chronicle” Podcasts.
