The Alumni Association is now accepting nominations from alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of Fresno State for the 2010 Top Dog Alumni Awards. Semester opens with 18,451 students, new programs, challenges - Fresno State began the spring 2010 semester on Jan. 21 with 18,451 students registered – down 3,000 from a year ago due to budget-related cutbacks, but with several new programs to help students. Read more

Dr. Geoffrey Gamble (1965, ‘71), who retired in December as president of Montana State University, was honored by the school with his wife Patricia at a farewell dinner on Dec. 17, 2009. During the tribute, they recieved a proclamation from Fresno State President John D. Welty naming Dec. 17 "Geoffrey and Patricia Gamble Day" at Fresno State honoring their contribution to higher education and to Montana State.
Dr. Gamble earned linguistic degrees from Fresno State and his Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley, then spent a year as a postdoctoral fellow at the Smithsonian Institution. He has written two books and a dozen articles on Native American languages and presented numerous scholarly papers. Dr. Gamble has won grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities, as well as other organizations.
Dr. Gamble served as Montana State president since December 2000. He previously worked at the Washington State University and the University of Vermont.
Dr. Gamble credits Fresno State emeriti professors Dr. P.J. Mistry and Dr. Fred Brengleman among mentors who helped him be successful.
Craig Holt (2006) and Kristen Martin are happy to announce their engagement. The wedding ceremony will take place in August 2010.
Ely Uretsky (2005) officially joined the police department of the City of Watsonville.
LTC Paul Romagnoli (1992) took command of the 25th Special Troops Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii on January 19th. His 700+ Soldier battalion provides support to the 25th Infantry Division Headquarters. LTC Romagnoli has 17 years of military service and is a Life Member of the FSAA.
Robert Cargill (1996) and Roslyn Bennett are happy to announce their engagement. The wedding ceremony will take place in March 2010 in Ventura overlooking the ocean. Robert is an Annual Member of the FSAA.
Tamara Range (2007) and Mikey Dye are happy to announce their engagement. The wedding ceremony will take place on June 26, 2010.
