The Fresno State Alumni Association is the recipient of a “Bronze Award of Excellence” presented by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), District VII, for the video “What Day Is it? It’s Hump Day!”

The video features a Tia, a camel owned by Lloyd Pareira from Merced, Calif., walking around various locations on the Fresno State campus: She’s shown with the Bulldogs’ Softball Team, walks with TimeOut and members of the Spirit Squad, calls out Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro, walks through the Smittcamp Alumni House, and cavorts with a small ensemble comprised from members of the Bulldogs’ Marching Band.

Grants offer new opportunities for nurse practitioner students
The College of Health and Human Services was awarded nearly $300,000 in grants to help fill a regional void of primary health care providers. The grants were awarded by the Song-Brown Commission, which encourages universities and health care professionals to provide quality health care in underserved areas. More Read more

Lopez named Fresno State’s first-ever Gates Cambridge Scholar
Fresno State senior Stephanie Gabriela Lopez was awarded the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, a full-ride graduate scholarship to Cambridge University, making her the first Fresno State student to receive the prestigious academic honor. More Read more

Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala - Open Call for Nominations
It is once again time to begin the nomination process for our annual Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala that is traditionally held during Homecoming week each fall. We are currently looking for individuals who fit the Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Alumni and Arthur Safstrom Service Award criteria. Nomination forms are available online You will also find the past recipient list and guidelines for granting the awards here.

 (1995) is an attorney and shareholder with Walter & Wilhelm Law Group based in Fresno, Calif. His areas of practice include employment law and business litigation.

(1994) is an attorney with Walter & Wilhelm Law Group based in Fresno, Calif. Her practice areas include: business, litigation, employment, bankruptcy and healthcare.

Anna Jacobsen
 (2010) is an administrator at Bitwise, located in Fresno, Calif. As a student, she was a reporter for “The Collegian.”

Amy Kohl (1994) currently has a display in the Fresno Arts Council during the month of February. She is a metal, stone, and found object artist. 

Adam Longatti (2002) has his paintings in an exhibit titled “Interior Space” throughout the month of March at 1821 Gallery & Studios located in Fresno, Calif.

Heather McLane
 (1999) is the content developer and marketing specialist at Edit, LLC, located in Fresno, Calif.

Robert H. Oliver 
(1966) will retire from the Fresno County Superior Court in January 2015 after serving for 20 years on the bench. 

Domingos Simões Pereira (1994) has been selected the head of the Eighth Ordinary Congress of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde; and is considered a top contender to become prime minister of Guinée-Bissau in its upcoming parliamentary elections.
