Steven Church holds an MFA from Colorado State University and came to Fresno State in the Fall of 2006. He is the author of The Guinness Book of Me: a Memoir, Theoretical Killings: Essays and Accidents, and The Day After The Day After: My Atomic Angst. His fourth book, a collection of essays titled Ultrasonic: Soundings came out in December 2014. His work has been published in Terrain.org, River Teeth, Passages North, DIAGRAM, The Rumpus, Creative Nonfiction, Salon.com, Fourth Genre, and many others. His essay, "Auscultation," was chosen by Edwidge Danticat for inclusion in the 2011 Best American Essays. He is a Founding Editor and Nonfiction Editor for the MFA Program's flagship literary magazine, The Normal School, and the Hallowell Professor of Creative Writing (2014-16).
