Carmen Christine Carey

Carmen Christine CareyCarmen Christine Carey was born in Tucson, AZ and grew up in many places across the US from Virginia to California. After graduating from High School in Oregon, she supported the family cattle ranching business. Carmen decided to return to school and chose Fresno State where she focused on academic achievement and redefined her life goals. She graduated summa cum laude in 1991 with a degree in Speech Communication, and in 1992, Carmen earned a Masters of Arts with distinction.

While at Fresno State, Carmen participated on the debate and intramural basketball teams and developed life-long friends. In 1993, she discovered the Silicon Valley technology boom and was hired by Healthtrac as a special projects manager. After many promotions she was named Director of Operations and Product Development in 1996.

From Healthtrac Carmen’s career path has taken her to senior management positions for Caresoft, Inc, BroadVision, Inc and MessageLabs (now part of Symantec) where she was Chief Operating Officer. Carmen’s contributions enabled MessageLabs to grow from $40M to $120M during her tenure.

In 2007, Carmen was recruited by CopperEye, a software company based in Bath, United Kingdom, and became CEO in 2008. CopperEye is a leading provider of enterprise data management solutions.

Carmen is currently living in London with her dog Theo and two cats, Ramsey and Tess. Her various roles have taken her from Fresno to London via San Francisco, Chicago and New York, as well as enabling her to travel across Asia and Europe in her various management roles. She remains close to family and friends from each chapter and zip code along the way. She remains active in sports and devotes as much time as she can to exploring new places, experiencing new cultures and continuing her executive education whenever possible.
