High School Journalism Workshop
The Central California High School Journalism Workshop is one of about 25 sponsored nationally by the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund. Each June, 15 promising high school journalism students from throughout the Central Valley are selected and brought to the Fresno State campus for an intense 10-day workshop that culminates in publication of a newspaper.
About 30 professional newspaper reporters, photographers and editors each year provide one-on-one instruction to the students, who live in dorms on campus. The program was brought back to Fresno State in 2005 after a long absence by Dr. Gary Rice and Professor Tommy Miller.
Students interested in applying for the program can contact Dr. Rice, the workshop director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 559/278-2026.
