College of Arts and Humanities

Students

Hello and welcome to the 2009-2010 school year!

My name is Robert Peugh and I am the College of Arts & Humanities Senator with Associated Students Inc. (ASI) ASI is a body of elected student representatives that encourages student involvement in campus-wide decisions and funds student programs. As the student government for Fresno State, we ensure that student's rights are protected and their voices heard. As a senator for the College of Arts & Humanities, I represent your voice in campus-wide decisions and am a voting member of our student government. I am currently a Junior studying Graphic Design here at Fresno State. I love the visual arts, enjoy playing the bass guitar and saxophone, and enjoy a good movie or theater production in my spare time. This year I will be working hard to ensure that you, the students of Arts & Humanities, have a voice in decisions on campus and are able to fully enjoy your experience here at Fresno State. I look forward to serving you this year, and ask that you get involved! There are plenty of openings for students to sit on committees in our student government and make a difference. If you would like to get involved, send me an Email or contact the ASI office! I'd love to help you along the way. There is nothing this year we can't accomplish if we work together with an open mind and focus on making progress in our college with our professors, staff, and administrators. I hope you all have an exciting year!

The College of Arts and Humanities

Students and their path to success are at the heart of what we do.  The College of Arts and Humanities takes great pride in cultivating a broad range of student/faculty scholarly, professional, honor, and artistic communities.   From individual advising to help students succeed in their path to earning a degree to mentoring students to reach their career goals, students in the College of Arts and Humanities enjoy all the benefits of personal interaction with our outstanding and caring faculty and staff.

Here are a few testimonials from students about their educational experiences at Fresno State:

"The Philosophy Department faculty has been an invaluable resource over the past four years. With open doors, they have welcomed me into their offices. They not only discuss our assignments, but ideas and my individual goals. It has been through their guidance, that I have found extracurricular activities supplement my academic life. They are encouraging and foster debate that ensures a healthy academic atmosphere. Their tireless efforts have led to a journal and conference on campus that has allowed me to publish an article as an undergraduate. With what I've gained from the Department and the College of Arts and Humanities, my future is open with limitless possibilities."  -- Mike Olsen

"The Music Department is full of knowledgeable, energetic professors who are eager to educate and mentor their students. Fresno State's lush green landscape is a beautiful place to learn and collaborate with other artists and musicians, and to discover oneself and art." -- Kevin McDonald
