Campus Child Care

Joyce Huggins Early Education Center
School of Education, Room 25, ph. 278-0225
The Early Education Center (EEC) on campus offers student an excellent day care program for their children. The 124 spaces for children in the EEC are in high demand. Most students are on the waiting list for six months to a year before their children can be enrolled.

According to the Day Care Director, applications are ranked according to family income, age of child and number of days per week care is needed. Lower income families are placed higher on the waiting list. Cost for this service varies according to the age of the child and number of days per week care is provided. Infant and toddler care, which is in highest demand, can cost $134 to $672 a month.

Student-parents unable to afford day care may apply for assistance through the campus Financial Aid Office. If eligible for aid, the student-parent will receive subsidies from the state to help cover EEC tuition. Funds are limited and a qualified student-parent may have to wait up to a year or more to receive funds.
