In my laboratory, we work primarily on the molecular genetics of crop plants. Specifically, we are making a genetic map of pepper to mark the location of a disease resistance gene, cloning repetitive DNA from pepper for studies of chromosome structure, using DNA markers to detect the presence of plant pathogens, and constructing a genetic map of an endangered California wildflower. |
