[calalea@csufresno.edu] [website] In my laboratory we study the process of developmentally regulated programmed cell death (PCD) in plants. Some of the experimental approaches we use include addressing the functionality of the Ceanorabditis elegans and Drosophila melanoganster cell death genes in causing cell death in plants by using an in vivo assay in Nicotiana tabacum; and the use of cell death pathways to design strategies to protect plants against nematodes. |
