Research Interests of Participating FacultyVa Nee L. Van Vleck, Economics.Dr. Van Vleck’s most recent research has focused on the adverse effects of alcohol abuse on individuals’ incomes and likelihood of employment. Other current areas of research are: employment consequences of regular malt-liquor beer consumption by young adults, particularly among blacks and Hispanics; the consequences of the sizable uninsured population in the San Joaquin Valley on the financial performance and capacity of the region’s health care sector (with a focus on rural hospitals); and the effectiveness of a grassroots drunk-driving abatement program in a Central Valley city and its potential for application in other communities. She has also published in the area of technological networks and transportation. Having taught in a wide variety of undergraduate settings, including the University of the Pacific and the University of California-Davis, Dr. Van Vleck is now a lecturer at the California State University, Fresno. |
