Partnership spotlight

Join Career Services in welcoming Miguel Gonzalez, Business Account Specialist with Workforce Connection (WFC) now providing satellite services here at Fresno State. As a result of this new partnership, he plans to work as a liaison between WFC and Fresno State’s Career Services to meet the needs of community employers, students, and alumni job seekers. Miguel is excited to represent WFC in this collaborative

opportunity.

Miguel graduated from the Sid Craig School of Business in May 1998 and began his current role with WFC in 1999. In 2004 Miguel was deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi

Freedom, recently returning to WFC in November 2008.

Miguel’s role is to focus on business growth opportunities towards seven high growth, high

demand industries: Agile Manufacturing, Automotive Technology, Construction Trades,

Healthcare, Information Technology, Logistics and Renewable Energy. He does this by educating employers on free resources available through city, county, state and federal government

resources and regional tax credits. Miguel is always looking for ways to collaborate with

employers to help their businesses grow, because when employers are winning, job seekers and employees are winning. Miguel’s ultimate goal is to form win/win relationships between

employers and employees.

As an alumnus of Fresno State and a liaison between WFC and Fresno State, Miguel is looking forward to working with employers, faculty, students and other alumni to nurture economic

development. The end result should be more profitable businesses and increased retention of

locally educated talent.

To reach Miguel, either contact him at Career Services, x82381, or email him at

mgonzalez@workforce-connection.com.
