Industrial engineering deals with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, equipment, and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems.
The industrial engineering faculty are committed to providing all students
the advanced technology background necessary for success and growth in their
selected professions. A program of study is offered to all students through
a carefully designed curriculum which includes engineering analyses for
the design of man-machine systems, optimization of industrial systems, and
the scie tific management of engineering activities. Specialized training
is available in the use of modern engineering tools and techniques such
as computer assisted design (CAD), robotics, computer integrated manufacturing
(CIM), quality engineering, and ergonomic (human factors) engineering.
