Although the university does not offer a bachelor's degree
program in classical studies, the College of Arts and Humanities
has coordinated a variety of courses in several disciplines that
allow comprehensive study of the Greek and Roman world. For students
interested in classical studies, two alternatives are available.
First, a student may petition for a special major based on the
program approved by the campuswide Committee on Classical Studies,
available from the coordinator of classical studies. Students
are strongly urged to read carefully the policy for the special
major for the Bachelor of Arts degree. (See Degree
Requirements -- Special Major for the Bachelor of Arts Degree.)
Second, the university offers a classical studies minor with three
areas of interest.
Classical Studies Minor
The Classical Studies Minor is designed for students interested
in classical civilization and for those who wish to have a chance
to teach classical languages and culture or who wish to enter
