The Interdisciplinary Health Proposal Development Office (IHPDO) was established in 2009 with support from an Interdisciplinary Development Extramural Associate grant received from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development of the National Institutes of Health. The IHPDO functions in conjunction with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at California State University, Fresno. The IHPDO has five goals:
In order to meet these goals, the IHPDO presents monthly seminars and workshops to increase opportunities for interdisciplinary research among faculty from the Colleges of Health and Human Services, Science and Mathematics, and Social Science. Information about funding opportunities is also disseminated at these meetings. Check the website for the schedule of upcoming workshops.
In addition, an academic writing workshop, “Publish and Flourish: Become a Prolific Scholar” was presented by Dr. Tara Gray of New Mexico University on June 15, 2009.
The Interdisciplinary Development Extramural Associate award also provides funding to support pilot projects submitted by research teams of interdisciplinary faculty and students. Check the website for more information about submission deadlines and requirements.
