Victoria Malko, Ed.D.
Research Associate
Victoria A. Malko, Ed.D., is a Research Associate at the Central California Center for Excellence in Nursing at California State University, Fresno. She completed her master’s degree in linguistics and a second master’s in history, both at California State University, Fresno. She earned her Doctor of Education degree from University of California, Davis. Her research interests include non-pharmacological therapies in dementia care, such as biographical storytelling and music therapy for individuals with dementia of Alzheimer’s type. She is also interested in cross-cultural experiences of ethnic communities in the central San Joaquin Valley, their views about Alzheimer’s disease, access, affordability, and cultural appropriateness of care.
As part of her job responsibilities, Dr. Malko works with the Department of Nursing chair, baccalaureate and graduate program coordinators on strategies to expand and develop nursing education curriculum, evaluate various aspects of the curriculum implementation, and increase faculty and student resources.
