Legacy of Nursing Education and Leadership
at California State University, Fresno
The Fresno State Department of Nursing has established the “Central California Center for Excellence in Nursing” (CCCEN), which is located at the corner of Bullard and Cedar, 1780 E. Bullard. This center has several goals:
- Promote and enhance nursing education and practice at all levels.
- Connect alumni and community to the joint academic and service mission of the University, College of Health and Human Services, and Department of Nursing.
- Document the continuum of excellence in nursing education and leadership in the Central Valley through the Nursing Legacy Project
- Become a leader in resource development, supporting nursing education, and research.
The Department of Nursing Education celebrated their 50th anniversary in the fall of 2008 with a kick off event, the first of several. The Nursing Legacy Project will be part of a larger project to document the first century of nurses in the central valley.
