Welcome to the Central California Children’s Institute!

Since 2001, the Institute has been a resource and an advocate for children and families in the San Joaquin Valley.  Our goal is to leverage the resources of the university and bring community partners together to address regional challenges.

Through its data gathering, research, education and convening efforts, the Institute seeks to heighten awareness of the unique challenges facing children and families in our region, and influence policy and practice in ways that promote their holistic well-being.  The Institute forges links between university faculty from various disciplines and region-wide service providers and community organizations working to improve children’s health, social, and economic well-being. Our primary focus in 2009 is to engage organizations, institutions and other community partners in developing and implementing a regional children’s agenda.
