CAUSE: Working adults ages 19-64
Adults 19-64 are the largest uninsured population group, especially those who are 19–35 years of age. Adults in this age group are the largest contributors to our nation’s economy, helping to keep us globally competitive and viable. Even for those with insurance, the US health system has not focused on primary and preventive care. Beginning in 2010, the CAUSE approach gives this age group an option to purchase CAUSE Part II (Primary and Preventive Care), at full cost. By 2015, all individuals in this age group are enrolled in CAUSE Part II. As the new health care is phased in, they will have access to more comprehensive basic coverage. CAUSE is structured so that a robust private health insurance market offering assistance with deductibles, co-payments, and supplemental coverage can flourish, ensuring lots of choices. CAUSE places the relationship between patients and physicians at the center of health care decision-making.
