Mariposa Indian Dental is the only clinic in the county that accepts Medi-Cal patients.
The clinic mainly serves Native American children and adults. Due to the lack of oral health specialists in the county, referrals for oral health specialty care is a challenge. Families must drive long distances to Merced, Oakhurst, Fresno, or Modesto. The only practicing specialist at Mariposa Indian Dental is a part-time orthodontist.
