It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the vrewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest--Adam Smith

Research

Our economic research agenda depends on the expertise of our diverse faculty to analyze large data sets and generate useable data for regional economic development, urban planning, and new business development.  Our faculty’s regionally focused economic research activities will serve as the basis for wider discussion, deeper analysis, and ultimately meaningful program initiatives. The research arm of the Center will help improve the Valley’s economy by providing a means for exploring the root causes of unemployment, pollution, poverty, and a host of other issues affecting the economy of this region and state. It will provide policymakers with alternatives they can consider and implement to address these issues.
