Fresno State Does It Again!

Another Year Breaking the Million Hour Mark

For the second successive year, Fresno State provided over one million hours of service to the community. During the 2010-11 academic year - the univeristy's Centennial year - nearly 14,000 Fresno State students, faculty, and staff spent 1,053,481 hours in service to the community. In addition to these countless hours of service, it is estimated that the toal economic impact of the university's community service-learning efforts is over $26 million. This comes on the heels of the previous year's record breaking 1.16 million hours of service completed by the university.

Program, volunteered with the Alluvial Community
Garden. The students helped build these 3' x 12'
planters, to be used by community members. ASB
students provided 573 hours of service last year.

At the Richter Center, we know the hundreds of different types of service provided to the community through events like Kid's Day, Make a Difference Day, Alternative Spring Break, and through classroom learning and service-based internships. But, we want you to help us celebrate by sharing how you personally helped Fresno State exceed one million hours of service for the second year in a row! Visit our Facebook page and share your story of service.
