" SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY! "
CESL Grant Opportunities
As announced to the campus by the Provost on December 12, 2007, a number of funding opportunities for the 2008-09 academic year are now posted and applications are encouraged. Several types of grants are available through multiple sources, including several grants related to community engagement and service-learning. The deadline for all proposals is February 15, 2007.
Plans are currently underway for several grants related to the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning, some of which are designed for individual faculty and some for departmental work on service-learning initiatives. The Service-Learning Faculty Development Grants will provide support for individual faculty members who take part in a multiple session seminar during Fall 2008 related to developing high-quality service-learning courses. Department level Service-Learning Curriculum Development Grants will also be available to support the development of department-wide service-learning courses in underrepresented fields. An Engaged Department Grant will support a single department in a semester-long analysis of their community engagement efforts. Finally, support for Community-Based Action Research is also available. Awards are managed by the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning, with any eventual funds being administered by the Academic Resources staff.
